Why Acupressure?

Gentle support for the body. Space for the mind.
At The Well Balanced Being™, acupressure is used as one of several therapeutic techniques within selected treatments.
Acupressure involves applying gentle, sustained pressure to specific points on the body using the fingers or hands. These points often coincide with areas where muscles, fascia and connective tissues become sensitive or overloaded.
While rooted in traditional practices, modern research suggests acupressure may help reduce pain, support relaxation, ease muscle tension and encourage regulation of the autonomic nervous system—the system responsible for our stress and recovery responses.
Rather than focusing on a single symptom, we use acupressure as part of our whole-person approach.
Combined with therapeutic massage, myofascial release, breathing, movement and education, it can help create the conditions for your body to feel safer, calmer and better able to recover.
Acupressure may help support:
• Jaw tension and TMJ discomfort
• Headaches and muscular tension
• Neck and shoulder tightness
• Stress and nervous system overload
• Feelings of anxiety or overwhelm
• Sleep preparation and relaxation
• General muscle recovery
• Improved body awareness and relaxation
Every treatment is individual. Acupressure is only incorporated where appropriate and always forms part of a personalised treatment plan.
The TWBBMethod™️ Difference
We believe lasting wellbeing comes from understanding the connection between body and brain.
Physical tension can influence how we think and feel.
Psychological stress can influence breathing, posture, muscle tone and pain.
Acupressure offers another way to gently interrupt this cycle—creating an opportunity for the nervous system to settle, muscles to soften and the body to move towards recovery.
Because wellbeing isn't about treating one part of you.
It's about supporting the whole person.
